MER Clinic: Construction and installation of a working interlocking
Presented by Earl Hackett @ MER Princeton 2010
This presentation describes how I have approached the problem of designing and installing prototypical interlocking. I have eliminated the mechanical interlocking frame, which would not fit in the available space under the layout, and might have weighed more than the layout could support. This has been replaced by software and a single solenoid on each lever. This made the whole project feasible and provided a means to accommodate changes in the track plan without a major reconstruction effort. I will show samples of the hardware, and explain and demonstrate the software.
